About

Systems that hold up in production

I’m Ayush Anand Srivastava, and I work on the full lifecycle of backend software: service boundaries, API contracts, event-driven processing, data models, and the cloud paths that take a change from a pull request to a running workload.

That includes the unglamorous parts that keep systems honest—query plans, retries, idempotency, CI/CD, logs, metrics, traces, and the incident path from alert to root cause. Architecture only counts if operators can see it fail and recover it.

GenAI fits the same standard. Retrieval, grounding, evaluation, and guardrails are backend problems before they are model problems.

From high-throughput APIs and distributed pipelines to retrieval-augmented generation and intelligent developer tools, I turn complex engineering problems into systems people can depend on.

Wipro · Client: Bank of America

Trade surveillance, library-usage telemetry, and release automation for a large financial-services platform.

    • — Developed a trade-surveillance backend using FastAPI with versioned REST APIs (v1/v2) and PostgreSQL, processing approximately 500K trades per batch run to detect market-abuse patterns such as spoofing, layering, and marking the close.
    • — Contributed to migrating a legacy Django monolith to containerized microservices on Kubernetes, replacing a single deployment pipeline with independently deployable backend services and faster release cycles.
    • — Built an asynchronous ingestion pipeline using gRPC and Kafka for library-usage events, persisting data in Oracle and giving 50+ model development teams near-real-time visibility into adoption and deprecated-code usage.
    • — Led a team of 6 engineers in designing a CI/CD pipeline using Bitbucket, Jenkins, and Ansible Tower to automate build, test, and deployment, reducing the release cycle from two weeks to on-demand deployments.
    • — Optimized Autosys trade-data batch pipelines with incremental processing of new and updated records and used Splunk root-cause analysis to accelerate production incident resolution and reduce recurring issues.

Interview-platform microservices, latency work, and Azure delivery for an employee-engagement product.

    • — Re-architected the interview module of an employee-engagement platform into containerized microservices using Docker and Kubernetes, reducing server costs by 25% with zero-downtime migration.
    • — Owned the design and delivery of an interview-scheduling microservice using FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, and PostgreSQL, reducing API latency from 750 ms to 180 ms through query indexing and Redis caching.
    • — Implemented metrics-based monitoring and alerting with Prometheus and Grafana across interview-workflow microservices, reducing mean time to detect production issues by 60%.
    • — Transformed large candidate datasets into client-friendly Excel reports using NumPy and Pandas and built an event-driven Celery system for asynchronous file generation, cutting processing latency by 40%.
    • — Implemented CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps to deploy Dockerized applications across multiple environments on Azure App Service, managing application secrets with Azure Key Vault.

Multi-tenant Shopify–Google commerce APIs, webhook processing, and deployment automation.

    • — Developed and maintained REST APIs for a Shopify–Google integration platform using Django REST Framework, supporting 5,000+ daily active users across multi-tenant merchant accounts.
    • — Built event-driven AWS Lambda functions triggered by Shopify webhooks to synchronize product updates to Google Shopping near real time, reducing synchronization failures by 40%.
    • — Redesigned the MongoDB data model by consolidating per-user and product collections into unified collections, improving query performance and simplifying schema management through targeted indexing and MongoDB Profiler analysis.
    • — Implemented GitLab CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments, replacing manual FileZilla-based uploads and reducing deployment time by over 50%.
    • — Used Boto3 with AWS SQS to handle large-scale product-upload batching and automate Shopify-to-Google synchronization, with scheduled cron jobs preventing product-listing expiration on Google.
